Tom Cruise has made it his personal mission to make any thrilling action scene look possible, by doing it all himself.
His latest work on “Mission: Impossible 5” shows that nothing has changed, the 52-year-old actor wasn’t going to let someone else step in when he went 5,000ft above the British countryside for his latest incredible movie stunt.
The Hollywood actor surpassed himself when he put himself in grave danger, hanging from the side of an Airbus A400M in a full tailored suit in character as Ethan Hunt, while the aircraft flew over the UK.
It’s just the latest high-flying stunt for the actor, who in 2011, dangled from the world’s tallest building, the 123-story Burj Khalifa in Dubai, for “Mission Impossible: The Ghost Protocol.”
“One night, after one of the earliest shooting days, I bolted up in bed realizing that we had our star dangling about a mile up in the air on a thin wire and my brain was screaming, ‘What the hell are we doing,’” director Brad Bird told The New York Daily News. “The whole thing was one, extended, hair-raising moment but we planned well.
The newspaper also reported that journalists asked the actor what was going through his mind when they shot the daring scene. His answer was simple.
“I hope I don’t fall,” he said.
